Freight savings explained

Rock Hard quotes freight openly rather than advertising free delivery we would have to fund somewhere else. Instead we give a store six practical levers: share a truck on your parish run, take a backhaul discount, price at a full load, use credit terms as financing, have offloading included, and be covered by a damage guarantee. Together they change the landed cost per bag more than a headline delivery claim ever does.

Capabilities

The six levers

Shared parish runs

Two stores on one corridor share a truck each would have paid full freight on. Largest single saving.

Backhaul discounts

A truck already returning your way moves your load for 15% less freight.

Full-load pricing

We show your freight per bag now and at a full load, plus the bags that close the gap.

Credit terms as financing

Up to 30 days on a full truck is working capital you do not have to find elsewhere.

Offloading and damage cover

Offloading quoted in where it applies, and transit damage credited rather than argued.

Contractor leads

Customers searching in your parish are routed to you. The only lever that raises revenue.

Step by step

How the savings show up on your order

Nothing here is a rebate you claim later. Each lever is a line you can see before you confirm.

  1. 1Choose your destination and quantityThe rate card returns the solo rate and the shared rate for your parish.
  2. 2See the full-load comparisonFreight per bag at your quantity, at a full load, and the bags between the two.
  3. 3Join a scheduled run if it suitsTake your parish day at the shared rate, or stay solo and keep your own timing.
  4. 4Backhaul applied automaticallyIf a return load matches your corridor, the discount appears as its own line.
  5. 5Terms and offloading itemisedPayment terms, offloading and GCT are shown separately, not folded into one figure.
  6. 6Landed cost per bagOne number to compare against your shelf price, with your margin alongside it.
Policy

What we commit to

  • Freight is always quoted before you confirm — never added afterwards.
  • Shared and solo rates are both published on the rate card.
  • A quoted rate is locked for a fixed window so a price move is not your problem.
  • Delivery is acknowledged within 5 minutes and proof of delivery is filed within 24 hours.
  • Disputes are acknowledged within 8 hours, with the order timeline as evidence.
  • We never claim the cheapest delivered price in Jamaica. We claim the clearest one.
Deep dive

The detail behind it

Why we compete on everything except free freight

A manufacturer with a plant in Kingston, an owned fleet and years of route density can absorb delivery in a way we cannot, and spending against that structural advantage is spending we lose. So we compete where we can actually win: easiest to order from, fastest to collect from, most transparent to transact with, most dependable to receive from, and the most commercially useful supplier a hardware store deals with. That is not a consolation position — for a store, transparency plus credit plus offloading plus leads is worth more than a delivery line that has been quietly priced into the bag.

The levers add up, and we show the arithmetic

Credit at thirty days on a full truck, offloading included, a damage guarantee that pays without a fight, and a full-load nudge that lowers freight per bag are each worth real money on a load. Put them together and they close the gap against a delivered price without us pretending freight is free. Every one of them appears as a line on your quote, so you can check our claim against your own numbers rather than take it on faith.

The one lever that raises your revenue

Everything above lowers your cost. Lead routing raises your takings: when someone searches for cement in your parish, we send them to the nearest stocking store rather than keeping the customer for ourselves. A store getting steady contractor leads from us stops asking about freight, because the extra sales dwarf the difference. That is why stock accuracy and being listed on the locations page matter as much as the rate card.
