Rock Hard is investing in lower-carbon Portland cement production through kiln efficiency upgrades, use of supplementary cementitious materials, and progressive substitution of fossil fuels with alternative fuels. Our CEM I 42.5 N product meets EN 197-1 standards while we reduce embodied CO₂ per tonne year over year.

Rock Hard follows internationally recognised cement standards (EN 197-1 for product quality) and continually benchmarks against Global Cement and Concrete Association (GCCA) roadmaps for CO₂ intensity, water use and biodiversity. Independent audits and batch testing keep environmental performance measurable.

How does Rock Hard support local communities in Jamaica?

We hire and train locally, source Jamaican inputs where possible, and support community programmes across the parishes where we operate — from rebuilding after storms to school and infrastructure sponsorships. Community investment is coordinated from our Kingston head office at 8 Hillcrest Avenue.

Rock Hard’s CEM I 42.5 N Portland cement is produced with continuous investment in kiln efficiency, clinker factor optimisation and blended-cement formulations approved for structural use. Where a project allows, we recommend cement blends with supplementary cementitious materials that lower embodied carbon without compromising 28-day compressive strength.

Responsible logistics across Jamaica

Our dispatch platform plans routes across all 14 parishes to minimise empty miles. Consolidated multi-stop trips, phased project supply and warehouse pre-positioning reduce fuel per tonne delivered. Vehicle checks and driver training keep our fleet and partner haulier fleets running efficiently and safely on Jamaican roads.
