Yes — every batch of Rock Hard Portland cement is independently tested for compressive strength (2-day and 28-day), initial and final setting time, fineness (Blaine specific surface area), soundness (Le Chatelier expansion), sulphate (SO₃) content and chloride (Cl⁻) content. Test certificates are available on request for any shipment.

What standard does Rock Hard Cement meet?

Rock Hard Cement is manufactured to EN 197-1 CEM I 42.5 N — a Portland cement with a minimum compressive strength of 42.5 N/mm² at 28 days and up to 62.5 N/mm² typical. This is the standard structural cement class used across Jamaican and Caribbean construction.

How do I get a certificate of analysis for my order?

Any Rock Hard customer can request a batch-specific certificate of analysis by emailing sales@rockhardcementja.com with the order reference (format RH-YY-NNNNN) and delivery date. Certificates cover compressive strength, setting time, fineness, soundness and chemistry.

Is Rock Hard Cement suitable for structural concrete?

Yes — CEM I 42.5 N is suitable for structural concrete grades from C20/25 up to C40/50 with appropriate mix design. It is used for foundations, columns, beams, slabs, block work, mortar, plastering and screed across residential, commercial and infrastructure projects.

How is quality maintained between batches?

Consistency is verified through continuous quality control at production and independent laboratory verification before dispatch. Every bag and pallet is traceable to its production batch, so any test result can be tied back to the specific cement delivered to your site.

What we test — and why

Compressive strength at 28 days is the headline number for structural design, but on its own it doesn’t tell the whole story. We also monitor early-age strength at two days (critical for form-stripping schedules), initial and final setting time (workability window on site), fineness (blend-ability and rate of strength gain), soundness (long-term dimensional stability) and chemistry (sulphate and chloride content, which affect durability in Caribbean coastal environments).

Traceability from kiln to site

Every bag, pallet and tanker delivery carries a batch identifier that ties back to the production run and its independent test certificate. If a project requires documentation for tender or as-built records, we supply the certificate of analysis keyed to your delivery date and Rock Hard order reference.

Working with engineers and specifiers

Rock Hard’s technical team supports engineers, quantity surveyors and specifiers with mix design guidance, product specifications and green-building documentation.
